Job description

We’re very proud of our achievements:

In July 2024, we secured a $200M investment led by General Atlantic to help revolutionise women’s health, and became the first purely digital consumer women’s health app to achieve unicorn status! 🦄

We’ve had 380M+ downloads, have over 70M monthly users, are #1 by installs in the iOS Health category, hit 4.9 stars on the App Store (3M+ reviews), are backed by 9 VCs, had a 40% revenue increase last year, and topped a valuation of $1B.

We’re a growing, ambitious HealthTech business building the essential digital health partner of tomorrow to empower women, girls, and people who menstruate with the knowledge and support they need to stay well and live better.

Our cycle, ovulation and pregnancy tracking, educational content and anonymised community platform have been trusted for years by millions to help them feel more in control of their health every day.

Now, we’re harnessing the power of data analytics and AI to build a smarter future, one where we all know our bodies better, with an aim to become the essential health partner to women worldwide.

The Job

The needs of the user is everything to us, and how those needs are served falls under our Product teams.

They’re fact-finders.

They’re builders.

They’re ideators of easy to use, information rich resources across our whole platform who - along with Analytics teams - get to the ‘why’ in order to create unrivalled user experiences.

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to work across User-Centric Stream and Design System. This role is an opportunity to craft intuitive, user-focused experiences while also shaping and maintaining a scalable, accessible design system. The ideal candidate will be comfortable switching between these domains — diving deep into UX/UI design to enhance product experiences and ensuring consistency, efficiency, and structure within our design system. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and impact millions of users worldwide.

Your Experience

Must have:

  • 6+ years of experience designing digital products for web and mobile platforms.
  • 2+ years of experience in leading or contributing to a design system, including defining, maintaining, and scaling design components and patterns.
  • A portfolio showcasing case studies in both product design and design system projects, demonstrating strategic thinking, strong UX/UI design, a clear problem-solving process, and measurable impact on users and business outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional peers and stakeholders.
  • Passion for designing complex user journeys, attention to detail, and ability to communicate and justify design decisions effectively.
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end design process, from ideation to launch, including collaboration with engineers to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure high-quality implementation.
  • Strong competence in Figma and common design tools, with experience creating interactive prototypes (Protopie, Figma, After Effects preferred).
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation and usage guidelines for design system components, tokens, and variables.
  • Experience working closely with engineers to implement, refine, and scale design system components effectively.
  • Ability to drive design system governance, including contribution workflows, versioning, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Expertise in A11Y, ensuring consistency, scalability, and inclusivity.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience working in health tech or wellness apps.
  • Experience collaborating closely with content creators, for example, editors or writers.

What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for:

USER-CENTRIC STREAM

  • Collaborate closely with UX Researchers and Data Analysts to gather insights and validate design decisions.
  • Support Product Managers and Design Leads in shaping initiatives and defining the roadmap.
  • Partner with Content Designers to co-design and enhance content-driven experiences.
  • Run discovery activities and ideation sessions such as design sprints or workshops.
  • Develop end-to-end user journeys, from early-stage prototypes to high-fidelity mockups.
  • Advocate for accessibility (A11Y) and ensure designs are inclusive and scalable across different user groups.

DESIGN SYSTEM

  • Build, maintain, and evolve Flo’s Design System from the ground up, ensuring scalability, usability, and alignment with business and user needs.
  • Create and define new components, patterns, and templates using atomic design principles.
  • Provide clear documentation and guidelines on how to use components, styles, and patterns.
  • Establish collaboration processes, defining roles and responsibilities within the Design System framework.
  • Work with Design System Champions to implement and promote best practices.
  • Organize design tokens and variables to optimize productivity and usability.
  • Lead training and knowledge-sharing sessions to onboard new team members and keep stakeholders aligned.
  • Implement versioning and contribution guidelines to maintain a structured and scalable design system.
  • Ensure accessibility standards are met and guide designers in creating inclusive experiences.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and refine design system components, ensuring seamless implementation.

You'll be targeted on:
