Taager is the first B2B startup focused on social sellers- Merchants. We are democratizing the social e-commerce space by enabling budding and seasoned entrepreneurs to sell online with no required capital, inventory, or operational experience.  Our merchants are covered in merchandising, warehousing, shipping, cash collection, and customer service. 

In 2019, we started as a team of 8 people. Now we have over 350 employees across Egypt, KSA, and the UAE.  We serve more than 34K social e-commerce sellers from incredibly diverse backgrounds – from students earning a part-time income to highly ambitious digital marketing experts looking to become solo entrepreneurs. The sellers on our platform benefit from access to 2,500+ highly marketable products. Our people are driven by our mission and desire to deliver the most seamless customer experience to the sellers on our platform. About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and innovative AI Engineer. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building data products for customers and thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment where you shape how to solve a given problem.

 
Key Responsibilities: 

• Work closely with business departments to ensure proper problem definition and opportunity alignment.
• Work day-to-day in a multi-functional team to build and extend machine learning libraries and frameworks for scalable customer-facing web applications.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, designers, and data analysts.
• Deliver testable, maintainable, and high-quality code
• Monitor, test, and continuously optimize our Machine Learning models.
• Ensure that your data products are continuously delivering the required value.
• Employ impeccable analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex challenges in the Machine Learning and AI domains.
• Regularly update knowledge with the latest trends and developments in the machine learning and AI industry.
• Work effectively with minimal supervision and a proven ability to align data infrastructure with business goals.

 Experience/qualifications/requirements:

• Proven experience with Large Language Models, RAG, fine-tuning, embeddings, and vector databases. 
• Proven experience in building Machine Learning models for example: Prediction models and recommender systems.
• Proficiency in OpenAI API, LangChain, and prompt engineering are essential.
• Skilled in API integration with various providers and enhancing customer experience.
• Deep familiarity with data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Competency in data visualization using R, Python libraries, Tableau, PowerBI, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in using version control tools such as Git.
• Strong ability to understand business needs, data gathering, clear communication, and incorporating feedback.
• Experience analyzing a feature in production using analytics and experiments.
• Experience in applying machine learning models to solve real-world problems.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience working in startups
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS and GCP.
• Experience with NoSql Databases like mongodb.
• Knowledge of e-commerce and social e-commerce is a plus.
• Experience with writing, releasing, and working in large distributed systems, deep learning or/and natural language processing is a big plus.
• Understanding of the fundamentals of machine learning and NLP, with the ability to apply these principles to solve real-world problems, developments in Deep Learning and Language Modeling, especially Generative AI and Large Language Models.
