Role Overview:

The Business Development Manager – Electric Actuators is responsible and accountable for all sales activities related to Electric Motion working toward the achievement of related sales budget, goals, and objectives throughout the IA Americas commercial channels. The primary focus of the market development is identifying and closing key electric motion opportunities while educating IMI sales and distribution on our success for amplification. The Business Development Manager will have an intimate understanding of customer requirements, develop and refine a robust go to market strategy, and effectively collaborate internally to maximize sales revenue and profitability for IMI. 

Work Location: Remote – Chicago Area preferred

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and refine strategies and tactics to achieve budgeted order input and revenue shipment.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the key customers and how this insight is integrated into the Electric Motion business plan.  This will be demonstrated through creating, updating and executing quarterly business plans that demonstrate an understanding of the product, key market trends, competitive benchmarking, opportunity progression, and budget attainment.
  • Demonstrate an in depth knowledge of IMI Bahr (Electric Motion) products and the value proposition vs key competition.
  • Drive customer intimacy to determine opportunities for new product development
  • Directly accountable for new account acquisitions and revenue/market share gains with existing Channel Partners and Key Strategic Accounts
  • Deliver results by showing the ability to identify and create opportunities, as well as, set goals that deliver profitability, tackle challenges head-on, respond quickly to obstacles in order to secure a competitive advantage.
  • Successfully promote IMI Bahr product throughout American market supported by sales and marketing teams.
  • Leverage and amplify global successes with IMI Bahr product portfolio
  • Develop and communicate a robust target customer list driving new account acquisition
  • Maintain accurate and complete account data within the company CRM system relative to: opportunity, forecasts, milestone dates and other information as required by management.
  • Provide timely and complete reports and other information as required by management.
  • Research and report on competition, competitive issues, products, and markets -(Price increases, distributor line card changes, etc.)
  • Educate and act in a consistent manner within the scope and principles of the IMI Way.
  • Travel is required. Overnight stays will be required. Position is home office based.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 
Critical Competencies for Success
Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of technical and/or commercial sales experience or combination of the following:
  • 3+ years of outside industrial sales experience
  • 3+ years of inside sales or technical support & application
  • Commercial and/or technical expertise with electric linear motion products
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook), and comfortable with using a CRM system in your day to day sales activities (Salesforce).

Pay range:  
Minimum $125k – maximum hourly/annually $135k
 
Within the range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to the job requirements. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to receive a variable incentive pay component. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
