Product Designer (Senior, Staff, Principal level)

The role

We're looking for a seasoned design professional experienced across the entire product design lifecycle, with deep expertise in UX design. Equipped with an understanding of user-centered design principles and experience in translating user needs into innovative and effective design solutions, your work will contribute directly to the success of the business.

Key aspects of the role include:

• You will have a genuine 'seat at the table' for product strategy decisions, collaborating closely with Product Managers and technical stakeholders.

• You will have the opportunity to drive the full design process from research and user journey mapping, ideation, through to UX design, testing, and post implementation iteration.

Responsibilities

Research & Analysis:

• Understand user needs, pain points, and behaviours through various research methods.

• Analyse data to identify patterns and insights that inform design decisions.

• Conduct competitive analysis to understand the market landscape.

Product Strategy & Definition:

• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to contribute to the definition of product vision, goals, and roadmap.

• Identify opportunities for new features or improvements to parts of the product.

Information Architecture & Interaction Design:

• Design the structure of navigation elements, ensuring a clear and intuitive user experience.

• Create user flows and wireframes to visualize the user journey and interaction patterns.

• Define interaction elements and behaviors within the product.

Visual Design & Prototyping:

• Create high-fidelity prototypes to test and refine the design before development.

• Ensure the visual design is consistent with other parts of the product, and in line with technical decisions relating to component choice.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams.

• Present design solutions and rationale to stakeholders effectively.

• Gather feedback and iterate on designs based on user testing and team input.

Experience

• 5+ years experience as Product Designer.

• Startup / scaleup experience

• Proven experience working in digital product design, with exposure to the entire product design lifecycle.

• Full stack design experience, with deep expertise in UX design.

• Experience conducting user research and testing activities.

• Championing design and the value it brings to the business.

• Experience working on SaaS would be a bonus

• A creative problem solver, able to balance data and intuition to make informed recommendations and decisions.

• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, and able to make decisions with limited information.

• Passionate about your craft, and quality of your work whilst still being able to balance this with pragmatic design decisions focused on shipping product as early as possible to learn and then iterate.

• Thrive on the challenges of transforming complexity into elegant and effective design solutions.

• A collaborator at heart, able to add additional value to your work from consideration of diverse viewpoints.

• Strong interpersonal skills, able to negotiate outcomes with a diverse range of stakeholders, with different interests and personalities.

• Able to work independently of other designers, collaborating as needed.

• Strong understanding of component-based design practices.

• Able to communicate complex information to diverse audiences (both written and verbal), tailoring messages to the specific needs and understanding of each group.

• Strong facilitation skills to lead design workshops, align teams and gather input and feedback.

• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma.
