Job Description

INTRODUCTION:

The Data Operations Steward is responsible for managing and ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the organization's data assets. This role involves implementing data governance policies, monitoring data processes, and ensuring compliance with internal and external data regulations. The Data Steward plays a critical role in the accuracy, consistency, and proper usage of data, enabling efficient business operations and decision-making.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Build, execute, and manage the data warehouse (DW) infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and availability to support querying, reporting, and analysis for GTM (Go-to-Market) initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Leverage technical skills in SQL, PowerBI, and ETL frameworks to maintain data integrity, provide insights, and support data-driven decision-making, including defining and tracking KPIs to demonstrate the impact of GTM data operations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, to align data operations with business needs and GTM strategies, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for all departments.
  • Monitor and audit data processes, identifying and addressing discrepancies or inefficiencies, ensuring the quality, consistency, and security of data across all systems.
  • Maintain data dictionaries and metadata, ensuring consistency across the organization.
  • Oversee data lifecycle management, including data retention, archival, and deletion processes.
  • Act as a point of contact for data-related issues, providing guidance on data governance practices and facilitating training for team members.
  • Support business operations by managing data assets and leveraging business intelligence tools like PowerBI to deliver actionable insights and reporting for GTM initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, governance, or a related role, with strong technical execution skills in SQL, PowerBI, and data warehouse management.
  • Experience supporting databases like MS SQL and MySQL in AWS environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with ETL frameworks and data quality tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
  • Knowledge of data security standards and practices.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only and based on employees in Canada and may be different in other countries. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and location, as well as market and business considerations. Our pay range for Canada based candidates for this position is $70,000.00 -- $80,000.00 CAD annually. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and commissions.
