Technical Support Engineer – PrimeServ Marine

For the continuing development of MAN Energy Solutions UK business, we are seeking a Technical Support Engineer for our UK headquarters in Stockport. As a member of the PrimeServ Marine Division, you will be part of a small, dedicated engineering support team. Your primary responsibilities will include providing technical advice and authority to both internal and external customer, including other MAN international group companies. Your expertise and experience will cover areas such as the design, spare parts supply chain, operation, maintenance, and the repair of MAN heritage diesel engines.

We can offer you the following tasks

• Manage and respond to all incoming technical assistance and information requests, including:
• Supplier technical queries (direct/indirect)
• Supply chain (purchasing) queries
• Audit Centre queries for inspected parts
• Technical evaluation of concessions for UK heritage engine components
• Assist with design control for Stockport heritage products and manage Company Standards
• Support the Design Concession Request process with initial decision-making
• Process engineering change requirements (modifications) for Stockport Heritage products
• Update engineering drawings and specifications
• Provide technical support to Sales and Contract teams with data for tenders, quotations, and ongoing field service activities
• Support the Stockport Workshop and logistics Sub Assembly areas with technical assistance
• Participate in new business initiatives utilising current MAN products
  

You Can Help Us With These Qualifications

• Practical Mechanical Engineering Background : Engineering Degree, HND with extensive relevant industry experience, or Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
• Mechanical Design Experience
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design : 2D and 3D (AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Inventor, ANVIL)
• Understanding of Diesel Engine Design , maintenance and in-service problem-solving
• Understanding of Medium-Speed Diesel Engines : application, build, testing, and associated auxiliary systems, or similar heavy mechanical equipment.
• Experience with SAP Enterprise Software
• Fluency in English : Additional languages are a plus

Where we need you

Your office will be located in Stockport, UK. While there will be opportunities for hybrid working, it is expected that you will spend the majority of your time in the office during the first few months. After this initial period, a minimum number of in-office days per week will be required to meet business needs. The role may also involve occasional travel within the UK and Europe.
