Our advanced, dedicated networks are also supporting the management of critical data and content for connected devices including smart TVs and smart meters for water, gas and electricity.
Location We operate a flexible, hybrid working environment with the candidate required to travel to a local Arqiva office up to twice a week (Crawley Court Winchester, London, Huddersfield)

Role Purpose
To lead on ensuring an effective Management System for H&S management in Arqiva. Producing comprehensive H&S reports utilising data to provide insights and intelligence to all stakeholders to drive both assurance and identification of focus areas. Act as the lead for external engagement including across industry groups. Ensure an effective assurance programme through the outsource partner.
Key Accountabilities
Develops and maintains comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and standards (H&S IMS) aligned with industry regulations and best practices (including occupational health).
Identifies & implements further documentation to support business needs such as standard BID response information, etc.
Ensures quality control of H&S IMS and continual improvement
Undertakes independent investigations into high-potential incidents and serious injuries (where the BP is involved in the work or functional approach)
Conducts research and stays updated on emerging safety risks and regulations
Sets and monitors KPIs, and reports performance to senior management and business functions to drive a culture of ownership across Arqiva (this includes regular report content e.g. monthly R&R report, Ops LT report, ORC report, etc)
Work collaboratively with the Health & Safety Improvement Professional to analyse data to identify trends and focus areas/improvements
Controls demand management process
Responsible for development of the H&S comms and engagement plan including the contractor H&S forum
Leverages emerging technology to drive efficiencies (e.g. AI to synthesise / refresh policy documents, chat bots to support self-service through the hub, dashboards for data monitoring and analysis)
Monitors and improves team governance
Owns overall assurance, inspections and audits plan for Outsourced Partner to fulfil
Lead and manage engaged and effective Health & Safety, Strategy & Improvement business team ensuring development and succession plans in place
line manager experience is preferred
Essential Role Delivery Experience Required
CMIOSH or working towards
NEBOSH General Certificate
Working technical knowledge of RF, Work at height, electrical and asbestos hazards and legal requirements
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both written and verbally
Proficient in prioritising multiple tasks and assess risk
Ability to influence
Preferably a Bachelors in an Engineering discipline / HND or equivalent or relevant experience
Desired Role Delivery Experience
Significant experience of working as a safety professional in the construction and telecoms industry
Track record of leading a team of multi-disciplined skills and manage the allocation of resources to projects effectively and efficiently
Experience of managing portfolios of H&S initiatives across business units.
Experience of defining and implementing H&S framework models across cross-functional organisations
