To provide audit services within Supply Chain Food Safety business unit. This position is responsible for evaluating assigned suppliers’ compliance with relevant standards and pre-determined criteria for food safety and quality; producing reports detailing audit findings; communicating those results to the supplier as well as NSF team members.
Responsibilities
Schedule and conduct the full range of assigned Food Safety & Quality audits.
Conduct special supplier visits to investigate product failures and verify the implementation of corrective actions.
Develop effective work plans for the completion of assigned audits.
Establish and maintain effective communication with program representatives and project managers as it relates to client-specific concerns affecting plants assigned to the auditor.
Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Five (5) years food processing experience (food plant experience in a responsible position related to food safety).
Qualified as a consultant or auditor in at least one of the GFSI benchmarked standards, (ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, SQF, BRC, and/or Global GAP)
In-depth working knowledge of the manufacture of food and allied products.
Ability to perform audits in more than one program area and/or ability to train auditors.
Ability to work independently from remote location.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation.
Ability to maintain a valid and current passport and have the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in food/environmental health or related.
Certified as a consultant or auditor in at least one of the GFSI benchmarked standards, (ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, SQF, Global GAP and/or BRC) and hold certification in at least five (5) of the food safety categories.
Ten (10) or more years food processing experience (food plant experience in a responsible position related to food safety).
Strong knowledge of NSF Standards and policies.
Work experience in public or private sector as sanitarian, chemist, engineer, microbiologist, or related quality function.
Experience conducting process based audits (ISO, related standards).
Ability to maintain a profession registration (environmental health, engineering, or related profession).
Foreign language skills as appropriate to the client home country.
