Senior Engineering Tech Leader, Field Services
Remote (Preferably on the East coast of the US)
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigates reports of fenestration product issues in the field and prepares responses including root cause analysis and assessment of product field performance.
- Leverages in depth understand of building science and building envelop water management principles, building codes, and industry testing standards to analyze projects with reported issues.
- Creates and maintains thorough, timely documentation related to projects including in Pella CRM software.
- Demonstrates the utmost professionalism and precision when representing and communicating Pella to all customers and stakeholders.
- Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of Pella’s Limited Warranties. This position plays a key role in working with Pella’s legal counsel to resolve issues without litigation.
- Educates Sales Branch, National Accounts and Customer Service employees regarding installation and product service issues. This may include developing and conducting training seminars with an emphasis on improving customer satisfaction, preventing future issues, and the proper procedures for conducting field service investigations.
- Works with cross-functional team in support of updating and improving product application information.
- Provides product performance and application analyses, structural engineering, and water management design requirements needed relative to architectural plans and specs, codes and standards for highly complex project specific window and door installation systems and applications in all Pella domestic and international markets.
- May be responsible for reviewing the work of application engineers, technicians, and product application specialists to develop and implement installation designs into high quality bid submission and installation shop drawing documents to avoid liability to Pella Corporation and the sales organization.
Required Skills & Experience:
The scope of influence of this position spans field sales and technical representatives, architects/design engineers, end customers, Pella engineering, product development, manufacturing, quality, IT, Legal, and material vendors for all Pella Divisions.
- Influential leadership skills are necessary when prioritizing, planning, and implementing projects. The ability to effectively present information, defend a position and address concerns is key to fostering collaboration with each of these groups.

Education: Four-year degree in Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, a building science related degree or five-year Architecture Degree.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Licensed professional engineer preferred.
Experience: Experience in higher-end residential or light commercial / institutional construction. 7+ years of architectural, consulting or engineering experience.
Supervisory responsibilities: May include light supervisory responsibilities.
Work hours: Normal +irregular hours/shifts required.
Travel expectations: Extensive travel may be required. 30-35% travel expected regularly.
Computer skills: Technical / functional skills: Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce.
Safety: Periodically exposed to machinery where safe operating procedures must be followed, occasional lifting of materials up to 30 lbs. is required, work environment may be noisy.
