We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer with expertise in designing and implementing geospatial-enabled PostgreSQL databases, migrating data from legacy Oracle systems, and supporting business-critical data requirements. This role requires a collaborative mindset, hands-on technical experience, and a focus on data quality and governance.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior Database Engineer: $160,000 to $172,000
Pay commensurate with experience.

Design and develop a robust PostgreSQL data model to meet evolving business needs.
Migrate data from an on-premises Oracle database to a new on-prem PostgreSQL geospatial-enabled database.
Develop and optimize Python scripts for PostgreSQL FDW and ArcGIS integration.
Collaborate with the data architect to design, normalize, and optimize database schemas.
Implement and maintain data standardization and data quality frameworks to ensure database integrity.
Create and maintain documentation for data models, database designs, and related processes, including data governance, security standards, and role definitions.
Proficiency in geospatial data concepts and PostGIS integration.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL FDW (Foreign Data Wrapper).
Understanding of Oracle database architecture and migration processes.
Hands-on experience with ESRI ArcGIS and geospatial-enabled data models.
Experience working in a Federal Government Contract setting.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in database engineering.
Proven track record of migrating Oracle databases to PostgreSQL.
Strong expertise in supporting data migration projects and geospatial data requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
