Job Summary:

As a Digital Automation Consultant for the Material Handling vertical, you will drive Belden's mission to provide advanced network and connectivity solutions by partnering with customers on their digital transformation journeys. Reporting to the Digital Automation Consultant Leader, you will play a key role in diagnosing operational challenges, developing tailored automation solutions, and delivering business outcomes that enhance efficiency and performance. By leveraging your knowledge in Material Handling processes and technical expertise, you must be able to ask probing questions to our customers to identify their needs and translate those responses into technical languages for the solutions engineering team. The ideal candidate will have customer-side experience working in Enterprise supply chain and material handling environments. This is a remote role with travel that can be located anywhere in the US near a major metropolitan airport.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand and analyze customer operations, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for digital transformation in Material Handling environments.
  • Design and deliver compelling, outcome-driven automation solutions that align with customers' goals and KPIs, building trust and long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Solution Consultants and Technical Teams to execute Proofs of Concept (POCs), Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and network audits, ensuring seamless solution implementation.
  • Provide industry insights and present innovative use cases that demonstrate the value of Belden's solutions in addressing customer pain points and driving ROI.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by creating tailored proposals and financial justifications for automation solutions, effectively influencing decision-making at all organizational levels.
  • Train and empower customer teams to adopt tools and methodologies for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Communicate customer insights and market trends internally to refine and evolve Belden's strategies and solution offerings.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Industry Expertise: A solid background in Material Handling, with 5-7 years of experience in automation consulting, industrial networking, or similar roles.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with automation technologies, IIoT, robotics, and operational tools like Lean and Six Sigma. Experience with RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere) is a plus.
  • Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to diagnose complex operational challenges and develop innovative, practical solutions.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Strong communication and presentation skills to build trust and deliver tailored value propositions aligned with customer goals.
  • Results-Oriented: A track record of driving measurable business outcomes through technical sales and strategic problem-solving.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment to execute shared goals.
  • Educational Background: Bachelors degree in engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
