Position overview:

Gather, understand and critically evaluate information and reporting requirements from multiple sources to ensure alignment with strategic goals and to decompose high-level information into details. Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. Serve as the liaison between internal and external customers and subject matter experts (SMEs)/EDW team. Design and develop creative BI components for the delivery of dashboards, scorecards, delivered reports, ad hoc queries, extracts and analytics. Utilize existing enterprise BI tool set (e.g., SQL Server Reporting Services, SS Analysis Services, SharePoint, Crystal) and web services that provide standard analytic computations that can be leveraged in multiple BI solutions. Work with customers to ensure user acceptance testing and complete delivery of reporting/analysis solution. Keeps abreast of trends and best practices in the industry to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge as it relates to BI.

The main applications are SMART the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for Substance Abuse, and IMA (revenue cycle specialized Substance Abuse Billing).

Skills required:

MS SQL Server- Developer, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Data tools (SSDT)
MySQL - DBA/Developer
Microsoft Visual Studio SSIS packages developer
AWS, S3 and CLI experience to enable to switch to retrieving data from the cloud vs vendor pushing data over SFTP
Design and develop SQL Server stored procedures, functions, views and triggers to be used during the ETL process
Builds data transformations with SSIS including importing data from files, moving data from one database platform to another
Debug and tune SSIS or other ETL processes to ensure accurate and efficient movement of data
Experience working with SSIS packages
Designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing MySQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity
Knowledge of HL7 Interface Technology for working on the 2 items below
Send data via a secure mechanism from SMART to IMA

Either direct connect from 1 application to the other or via SFTP encrypted
Currently Service data collect in SMART is stored in a flat file
IMA ingests this data once a week and processes it for billing
The Billing Office and Security have requested this be changed to a direct feed to eliminate possibilities of data tampering

Create intake process and documentation for report request:

Create an intake form
Create report repository
Document requirements
Document report

Regulatory reporting, changes for Joint Commission, DEA, various NYS, NYC agencies
Reporting changes due to labor union and workflow issues for productivity analysis, patient outcomes, quality metrics
Research data extracts and analysis
Audit logging and analysis

Business/Client Expectations:

Business Analysis of Clinical functions to facilitate reporting, documentation and need for changes
