Job Summary:
The EMEA Business Development Manager F/M (BDM) oversees the development of AMETEK IntelliPower’s business in the assigned region (domestic and international travel ~50%). The BDM shall identify, nurture, and close opportunities in the Defense and Industrial markets in collaboration with a network of partners. The BDM will develop key accounts, where in addition to building relationships with key stakeholder for the long-term and meet the short-term booking goals, as well as generate leads. An important part of the role relates indeed to prospecting new customers and verticals, in alignment with the business long term strategy and with the full support from the Headquarters. The BDM should prove a clear ability in consultative selling to guide customers towards our solutions. The position must own the strategic vision for the business in the assigned region. The BDM will collaborate cross functionally with Marketing, Operations, Engineering and Service to provide relevant guidance and visibility around market, competitors and technology trends. The position will report to International Business Development Director.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute business development / sales strategies for the assigned territory and verticals in accordance with overall AMETEK goals and objectives for IntelliPower.
• Drive demand and develop sales opportunities for IntelliPower through regular on-site or virtual presence at customer, create needs, presentations/demo equipment, follow ups, technical defense of products/systems and negotiation.
• Identify, develop, and manage a network of local partners (resellers, distributors, and agents).
• Coordinate initiatives with Sales and Marketing as appropriate.
• Maintain close contact with internal and external stakeholders to further our knowledge of product requirements, market trends, competitors, and advances in relevant technologies.
• Support the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process in defining a rolling forecast per product family.
• Provide input to Product Marketing to help direct the development of new products.
• Participate in sales funnel reviews and support in developing key account strategies.
• Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate prompt responses to customer requirements.
• Attend industry trade shows and seminar to prospect accounts and leads, as well as develop opportunities.
Profile:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical degree, MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a business development role, with experience in power, electrical and defense industry preferred and with experience in direct and indirect sales.
• 5+ years of experience in the management of key accounts.
• Must be fluent in both English and French.
• Ability to work effectively in global cross functional teams and to influence cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Competency with CRM and Microsoft Office tools.
• Candidates must be located near a major airport to facilitate travel as needed, and an active passport is a requirement for this position.
Additional Qualifications:
• Ability to communicate effectively in German is a plus.
