Staff Accountant (Property Accounting)

The Staff Accountant, Property Accounting is a key member of the accounting department. This position will be working under the supervision of the Regional Controller or Senior Director. Staff Accountants maintain and execute a variety of accounting procedures for 70+ properties.

Essential Duties

• Assist in the preparing and posting of journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
• Reconcile key accounts such as cash, prepaids, payroll liabilities, and other various assets and liability accounts.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Provide supporting documentation for external audits
• Provide support to Regional Controllers
• Ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with an emphasis in accounting
• Familiarity with US GAAP and internal controls
• Self-starter, high-energy, eager to learn and grow
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Must possess excellent organizational skills
• Willing to work additional hours when necessary
• Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus
