Job Description:
Technical Project Manager
GDIT is pursuing multiple, large-scale, high-performance computing opportunities for applications ranging from weather & climate forecasting to nuclear weapons stewardship. GDIT is seeking exceptionally qualified candidates for Technical Project Management positions for these programs.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Demonstrated technical expertise in high-performance computing, including current state of technology for compute, storage, and network elements
- Experience working in NOAA, NASA, DoD, and/or DOE environment preferred
- Demonstrated project management experience across multi-site operation sites preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, including successful management to budgets, schedules, and deliverable quality requirements, including service level agreements (SLAs)
- Demonstrated expertise in the entire lifecycle of high-performance computing systems - requirements, design, acquisition, implementation, testing, O&M, and refresh; expertise in facility requirements for high-performance computing equipment
- Current relationships with high-performance computing vendors, necessary to develop requirements for vendor quotes, ensure technical compliant quotes, coordinate vendor deliveries, and troubleshoot vendor related technical issues.
- Understanding and experience with HPC related technologies such as: large data archives, high speed networks (i.e. Infiniband, Ethernet, Slingshot), parallel file systems, or infrastructure systems (i.e. DNS, LDAP) is desired
Directs all phases of projects from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost control of firm fixed price task orders, schedule and technical testing and acceptance of new HPC-related systems/subsystems. Participates in the negotiation of vendor solutions and quotes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, project plans, implementation plans, proposal work statements and specifications and vendor support terms/conditions. Acts as primary customer contact for technical task order activities, leading technical review sessions with customer to discuss schedule and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies project problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.

● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in physical sciences or engineering
● Required Experience: 10+ years of related High Performance Computing experience
● Required Technical Skills: High Performance Computing, including current state of technology for compute, storage, and network elements
● Security Clearance Level: National Agency Check (NAC)
● Required Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication, and problem solving skills
● Preferred Skills: Professional Certification: PMP certification

The likely salary range for this position is $146,536 - $169,050. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
