Responsibilities


The Senior Jury Consultant is a leading member of the jury consulting team. The role requires a high level of job and industry knowledge in the field and a proven track record of case leadership along with successful business development focus.

The Senior Jury Consultant makes a strong contribution to most or all of the following areas: service delivery, business development, budget and case management, department financial success, thought leadership, development and mentoring of consultants.


The Senior Jury Consultant independently leads and designs research projects, creates the test agenda and questionnaires, facilitates the focus groups/mock trials, analyzes the qualitative and quantitative data, and writes the report for the client with assistance from the research team.


When cases proceed to trial prep, the Senior Jury Consultant prepares witnesses, works with clients to develop questions for voir dire and leads the jury selection process. The Senior Jury Consultant may also monitor the trial and provide feedback to lawyers about the clarity and persuasiveness of the evidence and witness testimony.


Success in this role requires a high level of critical thinking, superior writing skills, group facilitation experience and ability to successfully interface with clients, attorneys, focus group/mock trial participants and IMS team members.

Requirements
  •  Ability to communicate effectively with multiple clients and to manage the development and delivery of work product
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of social science research methods, including qualitative and quantitative data analysis
  • Strong understanding of the project delivery process and the interaction between the disciplines within a case team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage the demands of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and be flexible in a constantly changing environment to attend to case and staff needs
  • Ability to perform under pressure, as well as inflexible, but shifting deadlines
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts in oral and written communication and presentations
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely, and quickly
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, effective problem-solving skills, tolerance for uncertainty, and ability to adapt to changing case loads
  • Effective listening skills
  • Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others; develops and maintains effective relationships with others; relates well to people from varied backgrounds and different situations; is sensitive to cultural diversity, race, gender, disabilities, and other individual differences
  • Must have the ability to understand problems from a broad, interactive perspective and discern applicable underlying principles

Education & Technical Requirements

  • Advanced Degree in social or behavioral sciences or communications or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in the field of jury consulting
  • 5+ years of experience
  • 50–60% travel
  • Must live within 50 miles of a major airport
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Doctorate a plus
  • Law/consulting firm experience a plus

Location

  • This position is 100% remote and supports east to west coast time zones
