Description

As a key strategic partner on the Elevar Therapeutics’ Commercial Leadership Team, the Head of Business Development & Alliances will be responsible for identifying and driving potential business partnerships, including creating value-add sales pitches and building new relationships. The focus will be optimizing the value of Elevar Therapeutics’ alliances at all stages of the product life cycle, from pre-clinical development to commercialization. This is a remote-based position located in the United States.


Responsibilities:

  • Create and drive business growth for Elevar by developing a network of contacts to attract new partnerships, research new market opportunities and oversee growth projects, making sales projections and deal valuation models
  • Serve as organizational lead for cross-functional Product Opportunity Review Board 
  • Create and align the business development strategy across Elevar – partnering across multiple functions to enable execution of Business Development goals 
  • Ensure all terms of partnership agreements are adhered to and executed upon, including participation in governance committees and working groups
  • Serve as the central point of contact for internal cross-functional coordination and external interface with the partner company and ensure the Elevar team is prepared with their deliverables for partner interactions
  • Lead for alliance management and other existing key partner stakeholders as needed, including ad hoc communications/events that require cross-functional communication
  • Regularly collect/develop and control quality of forecasts as appropriate to support financial planning activities
  • Perform regular alliance audits and business reviews
  • Partner with Commercial, Legal, Regulatory, Medical, Clinical Development, Commercial, and other functions to ensure that key contract milestones, financial transactions, and progress reports are handled appropriately
  • Influence and negotiate new partner contracts as appropriate and provide input into partnership execution terms of the contract, such as governance structures and processes
  • Build expertise about partner company, including company organization/leadership, strategies, financials, and priorities; become Elevar Therapeutics’ point of contact on partner company
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years; Master’s degree with 12+ years; or PhD with 8+ year’s experience. Proven strategic management experience demonstrating business acumen, developing and delivering strategy and vision, delivering results, championing innovation, coaching and developing subordinates including remote teams. A Bachelor's degree is required and an MBA, Master's degree, or PhD in a scientific discipline is preferred. 
  • 15+ years of progressive-related Alliance Management, Business Development, or Program Management experience
  • 5+ years in high-growth biopharmaceutical organizations 
  • Strong experience in drug development, including IND experience and/or NDA/BLA experience
  • Ideal candidate has a combination of small/start-up company experience as well as working at established biopharmaceutical companies
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting at the executive and Board levels as well as externally to gain support for Alliance Management initiatives
  • Ability to create effective deal models including DCF, ROI, Pay back analysis
  • Ability to partner and effectively work with colleagues across numerous functions and areas of expertise, with the ability to motivate peers and leadership to build a great culture throughout the organization
  • Operate with the utmost ethics and discretion, earning trust with peers, internally and externally, team, and entire organization
  • A strong understanding of the global healthcare system, including the legal and regulatory environment, with a commitment to compliance, scientific quality and integrity

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $240,000 to $300,000. Final compensation depends on multiple factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skillset, depth and breadth of knowledge, internal equity, and external market factors.
