Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence (BI) Systems Administrator will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of BI solutions within the organization. Your expertise lies in managing the technical aspects of BI systems, data integration, maintaining security, leading unit, system, and user acceptance testing efforts, and supporting end-users.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

System Administration:

  • Gather and document business and technical requirements.
  • Lead the configuration and maintenance of the OneStream platform, including workflows, data sources, transformation rules, business rules, calculations, dashboards, data management sequences, and cube/master data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate OneStream with other financial systems (such as Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)) and ensure seamless data flow.
  • Intimately knowledgeable about the IT infrastructure and data architecture where solution reside.
  • Ensure that the BI layer operates smoothly on the underlying IT infrastructure.
  • Connect solution to data sources and establish security protocols.
  • Maintain and monitor systems to ensure seamless performance.
  • Lead Unit Testing, System Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements, patches, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with end-users to validate system functionality, identify, and resolve system issues.

Data Management:

  • Collaborate with data engineers to design and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data transformation workflows.
  • Create and build OneStream applications, cubes, dimensions, and calculation scripts using VB.NET or C# and SQL.
  • Understand cumulative translation adjustment (CTA) calculations and their impact on financial statements.
  • Ensure accurate handling of foreign currency translations and adjustments.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data management jobs, workflows, and transformation rules.
  • Ensure high availability and optimum performance of BI solutions.

Security and Compliance:

  • Manage security groups and access controls within BI systems.
  • Regularly review and update security settings based on organizational changes.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

User Support and Training:

  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business users.
  • Provide training and support to end-users regarding BI solutions and reporting.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Extensive understanding of enterprise Data Warehousing & Business Analytics architecture best practices
  • Hands on experience with HFM integration
  • Understanding CTA calculations and their impact on financial statements
  • Understanding of IT security, infrastructure, and networking best practices
  • Deep knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK Functional Framework (e.g., data architecture management, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of business process and financial reporting
  • Familiar with data integration best practices and leading technologies
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and self-management skills
  • Familiarity with Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional attitude and work ethic
  • Effective presentation skills

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field of study. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience as an OneStream administrator or HFM integration
  • 3 years of architectural design and implementation experience in a Data Warehousing & Business Analytics environment (e.g., Data Lakes, Data Marts, BI, including development and implementation, data analysis, and report writing)
  • 3 years of experience with specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
  • Hands-on experience with HFM integration
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and programing languages (e.g., Python, Java, PHP)
  • Hands-on experience with SSAS and SSIS is desired
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., Amazon, MS Azure)
  • Familiarity with MS solutions (e.g., D365, SSRS, etc.)
  • Proficient with MS Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Project Management and user training experience is desired.

  • Constantly required to sit and occasionally required to walk, stand, climb (includes stairs), balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear, and smell
  • Constantly using hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, and computer keyboards.
  • Routinely required to reach with hands and arms, squat, turn/twist, or reach, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000 USD per year.
