Job description

Overview:

The Director of Business Development for Government is responsible for developing a team to drive growth and revenue within the Governmental vertical market. This role involves developing and implementing the overall selling strategy, setting long-term goals, creating sales policies, collaborating with other departments to align sales efforts with broader business objectives, identifying and cultivating target end users, expanding market share, and delivering a great customer experience consistent with our brand. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in growing our company's presence in this important vertical.

 

Base Pay Range $159,000 - $214,000
We will be accepting applications until a final candidate is identified.
 
The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. Responsibilities:

Create Vertical Market Strategies
• Work closely with the cross-functional leadership team to create plans that drive sustainable growth and increase sales
• Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges
• Analyze competitor activities and market dynamics to formulate effective strategies
• Develop and execute a comprehensive business development plan to expand our presence in key sub-verticals
• Work with the Alliances and Ecosystem team to secure partnerships that drive revenue and enhance the company's position in the market
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to revenue and market share

 

Vertical Market Execution
• Create and implement innovative sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
• Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and other teams to set and achieve performance targets within each sub-vertical
• Build, lead, motivate and mentor a team of business development professionals in engaging potential clients and stakeholders to grow our business, providing guidance and support
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
• Develop and manage the budget for business development activities for hospitality and entertainment and ensure cost-effective use of resources while maximizing ROI.
• Participate in/lead vertical market events, panels and overall market engagement

 

Build Key Account Management Practice
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
• Ensure client satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly.
• Working in harmony with adjacent functional sales teams (Consultant Liaison & Channel managers) to coordinate projects
• Drive revenue growth by closing deals and securing long-term adoption.

 

Other responsibilities include:
• Recruiting new sales talent into the organization
• Assisting with new hire onboarding and filling training gaps within a new vertical
• Help with occasional special projects
• Organizing and conducting effective team cadence meetings
• Enforce Data Integrity for BisDev’s Account, Contact, Opportunity, and Quote records
• Attending training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, motivating and supporting the business development team to achieve their objectives

 

Essential Functions/Core Duties:
Setting vertical market end user strategy with involvement from key leaders across the organization
Onboarding, training, leveling-up team skills 
Working with cross functional groups in Q-SYS to respond to customer requests 
Developing and refining processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team 
Attending customer facing meetings in tandem with Business Development team members and participating in market events 


Qualifications:

- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the audiovisual, IT, or related industry, with at least 10 years in a leadership role focused on engaging with government end users.
- Extensive experience in technical selling environments and a deep understanding of best practices for engaging with end customers.
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional groups.
- Ability to make decisions within designated areas of responsibility.

- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales management software (ERP/CRM, etc.).
