Salary: $65,000-$75,000
As the Senior Grants Manager for BBYO, you will play a pivotal role in securing vital funding that drives the success of our programs, empowering Jewish teens and shaping the future of our Movement. In this position, you will oversee and support all aspects of grants for the organization including researching institutional funding opportunities, writing grants for major national and local funders, and developing strategies to optimize the administration process. This role reports to the Senior Director of Donor Communications on the marketing team and works closely with BBYO’s CEO and executive leadership staff.

You have a strong ability to develop relationships and collaborate with colleagues across departments. You have experience coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects within a deadline-driven environment, while remaining flexible to respond to and manage the unexpected. You are excited about gathering and sharing data to tell a powerful and persuasive narrative to institutional funders and philanthropic partners.
Shaping the Future for Teens and Yourself
As the Senior Grants Manager, your typical day will include:
- Writing BBYO’s national grants in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer
- Providing support and working with fundraisers on grants in local communities
- Working collaboratively with program team leadership to gather information for grants, reports, and funding renewals
- Managing and ensuring adherence to all grant deadlines and milestones
- Ensuring compliance with all financial and programmatic reporting requirements expressed by institutional funders
- Working with finance team to build programmatic budgets, produce accurate and timely financial reports, and ensure proper expense tracking against grant funds
- Identify, solicit, and steward organizations interested in sponsoring BBYO International Convention
Prospect Management and Research
- Identify potential donors and funders as new prospects for future funding and cultivation
- Organize research strategy sessions with team members to identify prospects and develop strategies for moving prospects through the solicitation process
- Provide briefing materials about major donors and prospects to the CEO and executive leadership team
Essential Skills for Making a Lasting Impact:
- Bachelor’s degree and some experience in nonprofit development
- 3-5 years of experience in written communication, philanthropic partnerships, donor stewardship, and storytelling
- Strong track record of effective project management and experience in inter-department collaboration and communication
- Travel Requirement: 10% +; including Staff Conference, BBYO International Convention and team retreats. Open to staffing summer programs should they be interested, not required.
- Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce, and prospecting platforms including iWave as well as computer software, particularly Excel
- Capacity to take initiative and lead projects from beginning to end
- Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail
