Overview:
The Sales Manager will book events for the Tahoe Blue Event Center through an aggressive marketing and sales program. The Sales Manager will work with clients on initial rates and contract terms and convey event information to internal departments. The successful candidate will also work to maintain and optimize the event schedule and calendar.
This role pays a yearly salary of $60,000 to $65,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Represents the Tahoe Blue Event Center as one of its primary sales representatives for local, state, national and regional accounts.
- Responds to incoming event inquiries quickly and efficiently and provides detailed proposals and contracts.
- Conducts daily prospecting through outbound sales calls, emails, and meetings to generate new business leads.
- Conduct all group sales efforts for arena events such as family shows, Christian concerts and sporting events
- Conducts venue tours, answers questions and provides information regarding venue services, policies, and procedures. Assists clients in finalizing booking arrangements.
- Meets specified revenue goals and objectives for the sales team.
- Assists in developing and implementing the sales/marketing activities of the facility including developing budget submissions and follow-through systems and procedures.
- Works seamlessly with local stakeholder groups, such as Visit Lake Tahoe, the Tahoe Chamber, the South Lake Tahoe Lodging Association and Reno-Tahoe Territory.
- Communicates problems and proposed solutions to Director of Conference Sales & Events.
- Establishes and develops selective selling techniques for scheduling groups during dates most beneficial to the local visitor economy.
- Prepare and deliver verbal presentations to groups and audiences of various size and backgrounds.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with representatives of local and user groups.
- Prepare various reports, correspondence, memoranda, agreements and budget projections with accuracy and details for internal/external customers.
- Enter and maintain complete and accurate information into the CRM booking system.
- Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal/external clients.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of increasingly responsible Catering sales experience for an arena, convention center, sports franchise, hotel or other similar public assembly or hospitality facility, including supervisory responsibility.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Has a strong track record of building relationships and generating new business
- Strong computer skills in Windows environment and MS Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple assignments.
- Team player who is enthusiastic, creative and a proactive problem solver.
- Ability to work event nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Candidate is required to work from the Tahoe Blue Event Center offices. This is not a work from home position.
