Job Description

INTRODUCTION:

The ideal Accounting Analyst has extensive experience parsing large data sets and reading and interpreting client contracts. The Accounting Analyst’s primary responsibility will be calculating and processing client royalties and rebates on a monthly basis, keeping up with the changes in the client’s business between cycles, in conjunction with the client and client-facing internal account teams. The Accounting Analyst should be comfortable with calculating and converting multiple currencies as well as detail-oriented to ensure the service is completed timely and accurately.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Coordinate with Client Success, Revenue Operations, Corporate Applications, Sales, Accounting, and Payment Operations teams to calculate and process client royalties and rebates, using Power BI, Excel, and Stripe, among other systems, to complete the requests
• Maintain royalty and rebate calculation documentation in an audit and client-ready state, including updates throughout the month as communications are received from client-facing teams and clients
• Embrace a continuous improvement mindset and champion automation to ensure the royalty and rebate processes are as scalable as possible, to support the growth of the business in an efficient manner
• Establish new royalty and rebate calculation support documentation and processes for new clients
• Process other client-related billing and revenue-related requests in conjunction with other Accounting department team members, including answering customer inquiries, fixing billing discrepancies and completing detailed customer analysis
• Assist with general ledger reconciliations, especially related to receivables and revenue
• Provide schedules for various audits, both statutory and US GAAP
• Ensure coverage and cross-training with other personnel on the Accounting team in order to meet these time-sensitive requests
• Other duties as assigned by management

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE:

• 3-4 years’ experience in financial analysis in a high-volume and multi-currency environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including at least intermediate Microsoft Excel (pivot tables & V Lookup)
• Professional communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to make sound decisions and take calculated risks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to problem solve using deductive reasoning skills in a timely manner
• Basic skills including but not limited to addition, multiplication and division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions
• Flexibility and adaptability to frequent change

AND IT'S GREAT TO HAVE:

• Workday ERP experience
• Experience with a data tool such as Power BI
• Client-facing experience
• Experience with payment processing and/or software-as-a-service industries
• 1+ years of Accounting experience
• Strong client orientation and teamwork skills
• Detail-oriented and able to make sound decisions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
