The Accounting Lead prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
Work directly with the Market President and the Physician Leader on strategy to grow and develop region.
Perform detailed financial analysis and present findings to Primary Care Organization (PCO) leaders.
Review monthly financial results, direct the budgeting, forecasting and LTP process for IPA business.
Create/communicate monthly financials to IPA Market President and IPA division leaders.
Management of provider payouts related to bonus, surplus and capitation to ensure paid accurately and timely.
Ability to lead special projects, acquisitions and complex ad-hoc reporting.
Work cross functionally with the Operations Teams, Clinical teams, Data Analytics and others within Finance (both in PCO and Humana) to lead various projects and initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
Knowledge of the IPA business and provider reporting
5+ years of progressive finance experience (review/understanding of budgets and forecasts)
Experience reporting and presenting financial results to leadership
2+ years leadership and/or management experience
Expertise in month end close, financial analysis and process development
Microsoft Excel proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Service Fund Reporting
Finance experience in Healthcare industry
SQL Proficiency
