At SOULCHI, we are driven by a vision that blends virtues-based leadership, conscious growth, and a commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. As an equity-based startup team member, you're not just joining a team; you're embarking on a journey to shape a more harmonious and sustainable world. We believe that true progress stems from the fusion of innovation and values, and that's exactly what you'll find here – a dynamic environment where your talents will thrive, your ideas will flourish, and your impact will resonate far beyond. Join us in rewriting the narrative of leadership and making a lasting difference that echoes through generations.

Role Overview:

The Fractional CFO with Fundraising Experience will play a vital role in shaping our financial strategy while driving efforts to secure funding. This position blends the strategic oversight of financial operations with hands-on involvement in fundraising activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the executive team to optimize cash flow, improve financial performance, and lead fundraising rounds (including angel investor and seed funding).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s mission and growth goals. Ensure fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability.
  • Fundraising Leadership: Lead fundraising efforts by developing investment plans, financial models, and pitch materials. Play a key role in securing funding from angel investors and venture capitalists, and guide the company through the due diligence process.
  • Investment & Budget Planning: Prepare financial forecasts and budgets, with insights into projected staffing costs and other key metrics, to support strategic decision-making and fundraising.
  • Financial Reporting & Transparency: Establish robust reporting mechanisms to provide transparency into the financial health of the company. Develop and maintain accurate financial statements to guide executive decision-making.
  • Cash Flow & Risk Management: Optimize cash flow to ensure operational efficiency and smooth scaling. Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • KPIs & Performance Monitoring: Take ownership of financial KPIs, providing regular updates and analysis to track progress and inform business strategies.
  • Investor Relations: Maintain relationships with current and potential investors, ensuring clear communication and providing regular updates on company performance.
  • Collaboration with Executive Team: Work alongside the CEO and other executives to align financial strategies with business goals. Assist in shaping the overall direction of the company.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, ideally within a startup environment. Experience with fundraising and investment rounds (pre-seed, seed, Series A) is essential.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis skills. Deep understanding of startup financials and the fundraising landscape.
  • Network: Established network of angel investors, venture capitalists, and other potential funding sources.
  • Fundraising Experience: Demonstrated success in leading and supporting fundraising efforts, including developing pitch materials, investor relations, and managing the due diligence process.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information and strategic insights to investors, the executive team, and other stakeholders.
  • Risk & Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and financial risk management in a startup context.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the tech or software sector is preferred.
  • Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or equivalent is a plus).
  • Certifications: CPA, CFA, or similar certifications are a plus but not required.

Equity-Based Compensation Opportunity:

As part of the SOULCHI team, you'll take part in our equity-based compensation model, aligning your success with the success of our business. After much research, we have found the fairest equity model for a startup. We use the Slicing Pie model. The first phase is equity-based only, which we are currently in. Equity calculations move dynamically based on your fair market rate and actual number of hours worked. In the second phase, which happens at the break-even point, the equity freezes at each member's current earned percentage, and compensation switches to salary + benefits. Your equity percentage gets paid out annually as part of the profit sharing. This is more than a job; it's an opportunity to own a piece of the future.

We request you only apply for this position if you believe an equity-based model is the perfect fit for you. A more detailed explanation from the professor who created the model can be found on Youtube, "Pie Slicer Equity Split Software" by Slicing Pie.

We understand the importance of work-life balance and recognize that each individual has unique scheduling needs. As such, we offer flexibility in working hours for the [Fractional] CFO w/ Fundraising Experience, with the opportunity to work anywhere between 15 to 40 hours per week, depending on the candidate's availability and suitability for the role.

Thank you for considering SOULCHI as your future employer.

How to Apply: To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your alignment with our mission and the value you can bring to our team. Join our passionate team and be part of a transformative journey to spread virtues, create social impact, and contribute to a more loving and peaceful world. Together, we can harness the power of technology to bring the truth of oneness to the center of societies worldwide.
