Mars United Commerce is seeking a Sales Development Manager for our Retailer Media Network clients. Candidates must reside in a 90-minute radius to one of Mars United Commerce’s hub locations: Nashville, Minneapolis, Detroit, Chicago, Cincinnati, New York, Bentonville or Dallas.
This position will:
- Maximize Mars United Commerce’s revenue growth by managing a sales territory for identified retailer clients.
- Ensure strong return on client investments in our retailer client media offerings and pivot toward large scale executions & campaign planning and campaign management.
- Work with stakeholders throughout TMA & Retailer ecosystems to identify and deliver against scalable advertising opportunities for Retailer vendors.
- Work with the Head of Media Sales directly on conceiving and managing business development opportunities.
- Leverage tools for accurate forecasting/ reporting/ planning.
- Represent and grow client partner “long tail” prospects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Revenue: achieving individual budgets.
- Ability to champion assigned vendor clients and categories and ability to forge the necessary. relationships internally at the retailer to help drive your revenue assignment. Must proactively partner with internal partners (ie: Buyers, category marketing, eComm team, etc.).
- Ability to project manage and stay on top of the many aspects required to effectively execute a multi-faceted advertising program.
- Engaging in strategic relationships with key drivers who help foster new lead generation.
- Prospecting skills to help drive new business and backfill the churn in your business.
- Develop an efficient sales communication plan to reach “long tail” prospects.
SKILLSETS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in digital media, and audience planning and measurement.
- Experience working with and/or selling to agencies is a plus.
- 8-10 years sales experience with 1-2 years of relevant sales experience or campaign planning.
- Farm/agriculture sales or brand experience a plus. Publishing sales experience a plus as well.
- Successful track record in either sales, marketing or campaign planning.
- Strong prospecting and presentation skills.
- Ability to get results through others and foster strategic relationships with peers, retailer-contacts & vendors.
- A winning and influential personality.
- Gifted at multi-dimensional selling & strategic campaign planning.
- Strong communication skills with excellent time management skills.
- High level of energy and drive to be successful.
- Location - remote, major metro area in the US.
- Ability to travel – potential for 25% of the time (more if not located in a major market).

Compensation Range: $75,000 - $90,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
