Job Summary:
The Track Inspection and Job Site Management Assistant is responsible for assisting with track inspections, ensuring service meets customer needs, and supporting job site management. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining quality standards and resolving customer service issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Operations personnel to ensure customer requirements and schedules are met.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving customer service issues promptly.
  • Inspect customer facilities for defects in need of repair and provide detailed reports to Estimators for bidding purposes.
  • Maintain service quality by adhering to organizational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in construction preferred.
  • Project management experience, including cost analysis, budgeting, and estimating, is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of field experience in construction preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, and written communication.
  • Excellent teamwork, initiative, resilience, and tact.
  • Decision-making skills with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Solid understanding of construction practices and ability to build relationships within the organization and industry.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with groups of customers or team members.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Capable of addressing issues involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment:
  • Work primarily takes place at customer locations, including outdoor environments and active construction sites.
  • Frequent exposure to uneven terrain, railroad tracks, moving mechanical parts, and environmental elements such as weather and airborne particles.
  • The employee must be able to navigate safely through these environments.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to travel as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing required.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Starting Salary: $55,000
