Title: Director of Private Sector Partnerships               Reports to: VP of Program Strategy

Status: Salaried, Exempt                                                Location: Seattle, WA or Remote Home Office

Role Summary: 

The Director of Private Sector Partnerships will report to the VP of Program Strategy and will be accountable for the strategy and design of our partnerships with pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and other private sector entities.  The Director of Private Sector Partnerships will be responsible for providing direction, contributing to strategic plans, supporting our programmatic initiatives, and managing team members in our Program Partnerships department. The Director of Private Sector Partnerships will serve as a decision-maker for the development of internal strategies and programmatic concepts and designs for our corporate partnerships. This position will focus on establishing and nurturing high-impact partnerships to expand global access to innovative medicines and diagnostics, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and goals. The Director of Private Sector Partnerships will also be a key leader in managing, onboarding, and stewarding global partners to our work.


Responsibilities:


Strategy and Team Development

  • Responsible for facilitating the strategy for the addition of new products and programs into the Max Access Solutions portfolio, in collaboration with the VP of Program Strategy, and peer Programmatic Directors.
  • Implements annual business development plans by coordinating internal and external resources, provides leadership and direction to direct reports
  • Identifies key private sector trends and opportunities to align organizational priorities with innovative industry solutions
  • Provides oversight for day-to-day relationships with key Humanitarian PACT partners and provides direction and support to Program Managers in their relationships with all Humanitarian PACT partners

 

Partnership Development

  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with senior executives in pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and other relevant industries
  • Negotiates and manages agreements to facilitate product access, availability, and distribution in underserved markets
  • Works closely with internal teams to develop compelling partnership proposals and initiatives that align with organizational goals

 

Program Management and Execution

  • Oversees the implementation of partnership agreements, ensuring effective collaboration and adherence to commitments
  • Collaborates with technical, programmatic, and advocacy teams to align private sector partnerships with public sector partners, global health initiatives, and organizational programs

 

Advocacy and Representation

  • Represents the organization at global health forums, industry events, and partner meetings to advance our mission and visibility
  • Advocates for innovative approaches and models to expand access to medicines and diagnostics in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)

 

Resource Mobilization

  • Identifies funding opportunities from private sector partners, including corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, foundations, and grants
  • Collaborates with the Development and Communications department to secure funding and in-kind contributions that support access initiatives

 

Data and Impact Measurement

  • Partner with the Director of Monitoring & Evaluation and Regional leaders to develop metrics that assess the success and impact of partnerships on expanding access to innovative health solutions
  • Regularly reports progress to leadership, funders, and stakeholders


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s or relevant certification in Public Health, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field preferred, PhD a plus
  • 10+ years of professional experience in private sector engagement, global health, or a related field
  • Proven track record in establishing and managing partnerships with pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or health technology companies
  • Strong understanding of global health challenges, access issues in LMICs, and regulatory landscapes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to make critical decisions
  • Advanced strategy and people management skills and ability to navigate in a fast-paced environment with a solid track-record of following through on commitments
  • Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills with high-level stakeholders
  • Experience working in a global and multicultural capacity across time zones and among diverse team
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; written and verbal fluency in French, Spanish, or another language, a plus
  • Willing and able to travel domestically or internationally, on a semi-frequent basis

CompensationTypical US hiring range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000 USD. Offers will factor in relevant candidate qualifications, cost of labor, pay equity, and geographic location. No relocation provided; remote location possible.
