Tax Compliance and Advisory
Preparation of annual income tax returns, and monthly/quarterly activity statements for individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts.
Preparation and referencing of workpapers including tax reconciliation, fixed asset register, rental property calculations, motor vehicle calculations, FX calculations and capital gain/loss calculations.
Proactively manage tax lodgement list and coordinate with internal teams and client teams to ensure that tax filing deadlines are identified and met in a timely manner.
Coordinate with the Australian Tax Office and client in relation to tax payments, lodgement status, queries, payment plans and interest remissions.
Accounting
Preparation of annual financial statements for private companies.
Preparation of monthly management accounts including analytical review.
Calculate and post intercompany transactions such as interest charges and service fee invoices.
Provide guidance and training to bookkeepers and junior staff and review financials and tax preparation tasks completed by them.
Lead month end close process including AR/AP cut off, bank / loan reconciliations and posting of month-end journals.
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of experience gained in an Australian BPO.
Australian tax experience essential.
Experience using Xero and Quickbooks Online.
Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
Fully qualified or studying toward CA / CIMA / ACCA / CPA.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to build rapport and relationships with English speaking clients and stakeholders.
Ability to meet the demands of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
