Overview

The SAP ABAP Consultant specializing in BOPF (Business Object Processing Framework) and FPM (Floorplan Manager) plays a vital role in ensuring the successful implementation and enhancement of SAP applications to meet business needs. This position is critical as it combines technical skills with a deep understanding of SAP processes, enabling effective solutions that adhere to the company's strategic objectives. The consultant will be tasked with designing, coding, and testing ABAP programs as well as optimizing existing code to improve performance within the SAP landscape. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including functional analysts and project managers, is essential to ensure all development work aligns with business requirements. By leveraging BOPF and FPM, the consultant will enhance user interfaces and improve overall system efficiency. This position demands not only strong technical abilities but also a problem-solving mindset to troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensuring operational excellence within SAP environments.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, enhance and debug ABAP programs and reports.
Utilize BOPF for efficient business object modeling and processing.
Implement and customize FPM applications for better user experience.
Conduct performance tuning and optimization of ABAP code.
Drive technical design sessions to align development efforts with business goals.
Analyze functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including functional consultants, to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Conduct unit testing and debugging of developed solutions.
Document code, changes, and technical specifications clearly.
Provide guidance and support during system integrations.
Assist in the deployment of SAP enhancements and upgrades.
Participate in the preparation of training materials and user documentation.
Stay updated on the latest SAP ABAP advancements and practices.
Engage in troubleshooting and resolving system issues efficiently.
Support system testing and validation processes as required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
Hands-on experience with BOPF and FPM implementations.
Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Data Dictionary concepts in ABAP.
Experience with Web Dynpro for dynamic user interface development.
Familiarity with SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
Proficient in debugging techniques and tools within the SAP environment.
Experience with JSON handling and XML processing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with SAP enhancements and modifications methodologies.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus.
Relevant SAP certifications in ABAP or related areas are preferred.
Strong attention to detail and quality assurance capabilities.
Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies as required.
