Frontend Software Engineer at GoPowerEV

JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to develop user-centric interfaces for our EV charging platforms. The ideal candidate is proficient in ReactJS and TypeScript, has a strong grasp of UI/UX principles, and is passionate about delivering high-quality, engaging user experiences. This role will require close collaboration with design and backend teams to bring innovative ideas to life.

We have built the best technology for EV charging in apartment buildings. This market is beginning to explode with EVs making up 25% of all car sales in CA this past year and growing rapidly. EV charging capabilities are going from an amenity to a necessity at multi-family properties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Frontend Development: Build and maintain scalable, efficient, and visually appealing frontend applications using ReactJS and TypeScript.
• UI/UX Design: Translate design concepts into responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces while contributing innovative UX ideas.
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers and backend engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
• Testing: Implement and maintain robust unit and integration tests using modern testing frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability across various devices and browsers.
• Containerization: Utilize containerization technologies like Docker for efficient development and deployment workflows.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in frontend development with a strong focus on ReactJS and TypeScript.
• A portfolio or examples of past projects demonstrating strong UI/UX expertise.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Proficiency in ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices.
• Ability to propose and implement innovative UX solutions.
• Experience with testing frameworks for unit and integration testing (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
  
• Knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.

• Experience in the EV or energy sector.
• Familiarity with backend technologies or API integration.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
