Summary
Gwynedd Mercy University, a comprehensive independent Catholic University of 2600 students located in Montgomery County Pennsylvania, seeks to fill one (1) fully remote, full-time nontenure track faculty position for the Graduate Program in Counseling starting July 1, 2025.
This position is a 12-month faculty appointment. Successful candidates will have a background in School Counseling. We seek a faculty colleague who is flexible, collegial, committed to working in a program that provides high-quality online teaching, and dedicated to upholding Gwynedd Mercy University’s commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Responsibilities
Assistant professors are responsible for providing teaching and service to the program, the department, the College, the University, and the counseling profession. Faculty teach 24 credits of graduate-level online counseling courses. Other duties include participation in one on-campus student weekend residency per academic year, curriculum and course development, involvement in program quality assurance activities, advising and mentoring of graduate students and assigned adjunct faculty, participation in professional organizations, research, and participation in appropriate program, School and University service activities such as committees and admissions processes.
Candidates must demonstrate experience with teaching and leadership in online counseling programs, quality teaching and service, student and community engagement, a commitment to collaboration, an understanding of the mission and core values of the Sisters of Mercy, and alignment with the counseling department’s social justice mission.
