What you will do as the Regional Sales Manager - West Coast:

The Regional Sales Manager - West Coast is responsible for discovering and securing new project opportunities from clients within the west Coast.  The Regional Sales Manager  strengthens our relationships with existing customers, channel partners/distributors, as well as seek and develop relationships with new businesses/customers.  The Regional Sales Manager - West Coast works closely with the estimating team to establish proposal strategy and prepare for smooth project execution upon award.  Additionally, the Regional Sales Manager effectively tracks and updatse sales forecast.  


Key Duties and Responsibilities for Regional Sales Manager: 

 

  • Provide key account management (EPC, EU and Integrators). Help develop key account playbook for the territory.
  • Manage channel partners within this territory with gap analysis, identifying new channel partners, and overlaying critical areas to fill gaps
  • Schedule meetings and optimize travel plans based on client/customer engagement and sales potential priority.
  • Qualify prospective clients/customers to understand new opportunity potential.
  • Further development business and build relationships with existing clients to check on existing system performance and discover new project opportunities.
  • Educate engineering firms about O’Brien technologies and collaborate on specifying the proper solution technologies in client project specification documents.
  • Prepare and execute presentations to large groups of engineering and plant personnel detailing O’Brien technologies.
  • Consult with client/customer to clarify needs regarding scope of work, project schedule, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate internally with technical services, estimating, project engineering, and production departments to ensure appropriate sales proposal strategy and successful execution of a project upon award.
  • Maintain open lines of communication and provide excellent customer experience by keeping clients/customers  to to date on product modifications and enhancements.
  • Attend and represent O’Brien at conferences and/or trade shows as assigned.
  • Maintain sales forecast via SalesForce for sales tracking and client management.

 

Required Education and/or Experience for Regional Sales Manager

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering, Business, or related, or equilavent education and experience. 
  • 2-3 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing environments 
  • 2-3 years of experience in Sales or business development roles with direct plant sales including calling on customers and setting sales plans. 
  • Strong relationship building and ability to successfully secure business using a relationship-based selling approach.
  • Customer obsessed with demonstrated dedication to finding solutions for customers.
  • Strong with writing, verbal, presenteation communication skills.
  • Self drivern, high activity strong performer with wffective time management and organization an skills.
  • Effective with asking open-ended discovery questions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and client management software.
  • Ability to travel at least 50% (typically every other week for one week) covering the territory of the Western  United States
