Position Overview:

At Insulet, improving the lives of people living with diabetes through innovative technology is at the core of what we do.  Our Medical Affairs department supports this mission by providing medical expertise to inform product research and development, evidence generation and dissemination, Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement, and medical education.

We can’t achieve that mission without trusted partnerships with healthcare providers including Endocrinologists, Diabetologists and Diabetes Educators. 

As a Medical Advisor in France, you will have and maintain a high level of knowledge regarding diabetes research, scientific publications and clinical practice.  You will leverage your deep understanding of Omnipod products and experience with diabetes technology to engage with French HCPs, including Key Opinion Leaders in meaningful, scientific dissemination and exchange.  Through this process you will increase Omnipod product awareness and understanding while building trusted partnerships with this important customer group. The Medical Advisor will also be responsible for facilitating key activities to support core department functions and corporate objectives, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure superior medical and clinical positioning of Omnipod 5 through the launch phases in direct contact with the Health Care Professionals in France
  • Serve as main point of contact for experts (including Key Opinion Leaders) and be responsible for providing scientific response on request.
  • Ensure the scientific relevance and effectiveness of the product's medical communication, while guaranteeing compliance with current ethics and legislation.
  • Deliver scientifically credible presentations related to Insulet’s products and pipeline interests to a variety of healthcare provider audiences (local scientific meetings)
  • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with targeted KOLs through meaningful scientific discussion and data exchange
  • Collect and share KOL insights and perspectives on key topics with internal teams to support Insulet’s strategic priorities
  • Implement the medical action plan as needed
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners and other field team employees to share scientific knowledge and collaborate on common business goals
  • Ensure medical review and validation of promotional and non-promotional materials when needed
  • Support and participate in activities related to Medical Education, such as symposia or webinars, as needed
  • Support with the development of French training materials and programs that meet the needs of various audiences (internal, external, professional and end user) that cadence with new products, indications, and claims, as needed
  • Remain current with scientific literature and competitive activity related to diabetes technology
  • Participate in the identification of national and regional level KOLs and Rising Star for Insulin delivery technologies for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
  • Performs other duties as required

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong scientific acumen with knowledge of diabetes. Diabetes-related technologies included automated insulin delivery would be a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Medical or advanced health science degree (M.D., NP, PhD or PharmD) is required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in industry or academia related to diabetes. Experience in technology in Diabetes is a plus.
  • Fluency in professional english
     

Additional Information

  • The position can be remote, hybrid or in-person at our Insulet office in Paris.
  • Travel is estimated at 30-50% but will flex depending on business need (attendance to congresses, internal meetings, etc..).

NOTE: This position is eligible for 100% remote working arrangements (may work from home/virtually 100%; may also work hybrid on-site/virtual as desired). #LI-Remote
