Job Description:


We are searching for an experienced Security Engineer to work within our Product Engineering team alongside architects, software development managers and software development engineers through our SDLC processes. As a Sr. Security Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall quality of the software produced within the team and ensure software produced follows secure coding guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess a detailed understanding of security best practices and threat modeling, as well as experience in identifying vulnerabilities and designing effective remediation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Designs and implements security measures for software systems.
  2. Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
  3. Collaborates with development teams to integrate security practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  4. Provides high-level design and strategy for security across the organization’s infrastructure and applications.
  5. Assesses new security technologies and tools and works with Engineering leadership to incorporate them into the software development process. 
  6. Reviews High Level Technical Designs to ensure our software architecture has a security first strategy. 
  7. Develops and Maintains Data Classification Guidelines. 
  8. Assesses customer data and aligned data to appropriate data classification. 


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in information security, risk management, or related fields.
  • Proficient in security frameworks and methodologies (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, OWASP).
  • Experience with cloud security principles and practices, particularly in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Extensive Software Engineering experience developing and maintaining scalable, Cloud-native, and on-prem software solutions.
  • Extensive experience with container security and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Understanding of network security protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VPNs, SSL/TLS).
  • Hands-on experience working with DevOps and Agile-driven product teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional security certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH).
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, Bash) for automation and tool development.
  • Experience in threat modeling and incident response management.
  1. Experience in protecting networking infrastructure.
  2. Track record of designing and maintaining security measures for network devices, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  3. Track record of identifying and mitigating potential network security threats.

Location: Candidates able to regularly work in the Atlanta office are preferred. Remote applicants within the U.S. will be considered.
