This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Montu is seeking a Platform Engineer to join our Developer Experience team and play a pivotal role in shaping our Internal Developer Platform.

Within the Developer Experience team your mission will be to investigate, understand and improve the processes the engineering department uses to do what they do best - solve problems and ship value quickly.

You will discover opportunities and solve problems that uplift the developer experience and be a multiplier for all of your peers, enabling the business to continue to scale to serve more patients.

As we evolve to embrace modern programming practices, our focus remains on elevating the developer experience and refining tooling for high-performing teams.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a big picture thinker, interested in understanding the motivations behind our work
• Demonstrate a bias for action and the ability to prioritise high-impact work, balancing value delivery with smart technical decisions
• Be excited about working on projects that solve real problems for engineering peers
• Be highly collaborative, happy to jump into huddles and solve problems upfront, but equally able to work independently where suitable
• Be a clear communicator, with a proficiency for simplifying complex topics
• Demonstrate strong written and visual technical design and documentation skills

Demonstrable professional experience with strong programming fundamentals:

• Strong knowledge of AWS fundamentals
• Experience working with and designing scalable and resilient systems
• Experience with CloudFormation or Terraform
• Experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD provider
• Experience with AWS CDK and TypeScript highly regarded

Highly advantageous:

• Experience with or exposure to user experience and design thinking principles
• Strong understanding of business and product fundamentals
