We are actively seeking an experienced Interfaces & Conversions Epic Project Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for managing the successful integration and data conversion efforts associated with our enterprise-wide Epic EHR implementation. The ideal candidate will ensure that all systems communicate effectively with the new Epic EHR system and that historical data is accurately migrated.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of interface and data conversion projects for the Epic implementation, ensuring compatibility and functionality across all systems.
Collaborate with IT specialists, system analysts, and external vendors to design and implement robust interfaces between Epic and other healthcare systems (e.g., labs, pharmacies, radiology).
Manage the entire lifecycle of data conversion from legacy systems to Epic, including mapping, scripting, validation, and troubleshooting.
Develop and oversee a detailed project plan that tracks progress of interface development and data conversion tasks.
Conduct risk assessments for all technical integrations and conversions, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
Facilitate communication across functional teams to ensure alignment with overall project goals and timelines.
Organize and lead regular project meetings to review progress, address issues, and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines.
Ensure rigorous testing of interfaces and data conversion processes to confirm data integrity and system reliability before going live.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of interface specialists and data conversion analysts.
Prepare comprehensive documentation and reports on interface standards, data conversion protocols, and project outcomes for future reference and compliance.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
Proven track record as a project manager overseeing large-scale data conversion and interface projects, specifically with Epic implementations.
Strong technical expertise in healthcare integration standards such as HL7, FHIR, and other relevant protocols.
Exceptional project management skills, with a PMP certification preferred.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to resolving complex technical challenges.
Effective leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating and coordinating diverse teams.
Detailed knowledge of Epic’s data structures and interface capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience with common healthcare applications and systems that interface with Epic.
Prior experience in a clinical or healthcare environment, understanding clinical workflows and data needs.
