About The Job
The Digital Assessment Project is one of the IB’s key strategic transformation initiatives focused on transitioning the examinations of the Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) from paper based to digital format.
Reporting into the Program Manager for the Digital Assessment Project, the Communications Specialist will collaborate closely with them and the Change Manager to develop, execute and manage the Communications Plan for the entire project which operates across four workstreams.
The Communications Specialist will develop and monitor performance of key strategic messages across and within the four workstreams, for key stakeholders beyond the workstreams and for our IB World Schools affected by the Digital Assessment Initiative.
This is a Remote working opportunity from either the UK or Netherlands, requiring travel to the Cardiff office circa 6 times per year for an approximate duration of 3 working days each time.
KeyResponsibilities
Develop and implement a communications strategy and plan for the Digital Assessment Project: taking into consideration the stakeholder landscape, existing communication mechanisms and the potential need to establish new channels. Partner closely with the IB Communications team and core leadership team members to ensure consistency and streamlining of overall IB communications strategy. Develop and monitor a variety of different channels for program communications including web, email, newsletters, briefings, and workshops.
Develop high quality, accurate and consistent communications copy and materials: ensuring they meet style and branding standards of IB. Create content for non-specialist audiences ensuring any technical details and information can be understood. Plan and implement a web presence and/or social media presence for the Digital Assessment Project taking responsibility for content integrity and updates. Maintain a consistent language, look and ‘brand’ for the workstreams, in line with IB branding and in full consultation with the wider IB Communications & Marketing team and third-party agencies where required.
About You
Previous experience within a Communications role, ideally within a large global organisation with varied and complex stakeholder groups.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in delivering and supporting communications specifically within workstreams/projects/programmes.
Key to success in this role is the demonstrable ability to work at pace to assimilate complex information and translate it into clear, concise and digestible messages relevant to the target audience.
Excellent written, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to develop high quality, accurate and consistent communications materials, newsletters, leaflets, briefings etc. for non-specialist audiences.
Experience of advising staff on complex communications challenges, including resistance management communications.
Experience of developing a social media strategy, using and evaluating the use of social media to support communications activities across a global initiative.
