The Project Billing Accountant will be responsible for managing the billing process for various engineering projects. This role involves preparing and issuing invoices, tracking project costs, and ensuring accurate and timely billing. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and other team members.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and issue invoices for engineering projects in accordance with contract terms and company policies.
Monitor and track project costs, ensuring all billable expenses are accurately recorded.
Collaborate with project managers to review project budgets and ensure billing aligns with project progress.
Reconcile project accounts and resolve any discrepancies in billing or payments.
Maintain detailed records of all billing transactions and support documentation.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to project billing and revenue.
Respond to client inquiries regarding invoices and billing issues in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project billing or accounting, preferably in an engineering or large construction environment.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
