Location & Remote Work

Our technology team works on the "remote-first" model, which means we are working from home with the possibility of living anywhere in Brazil. We also have the option of using QuintoAndar's offices in São Paulo or using partner coworking spaces, both up to twice a week.

Stages of the Selection Process

Our selection process currently lasts an average of 30-40 days, from application to completion of the assessment. Going through:

  • Application,
  • People Interview,
  • Tech Screening (coding or architecture),

Every Engineer responsibilities at QuintoAndar:

  • Develop independent services and platforms to enable our Product to evolve (e.g. parts of billing, visit scheduling, price optimization, self-service negotiation);
  • Create easy-to-understand, well-documented APIs.
  • Create scalable, maintainable and user driven solutions. We use several different technologies. You don't need to know all these upfront, but you need to learn fast.
  • Deal effectively with legacy code when necessary.

Software Engineering Manager responsibilities at QuintoAndar

On top of being a great Developer we expect you to:

  • Be a reference for your team. Be a great leader and a great manager.
  • Be strong technically and able to jump in and code parts of the problems we're solving.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design and Data to define a winning strategy and execution for your organization.
  • Help the career development of your reports
  • Build a great team both recruiting great talent and helping them grow

Requirements

You may apply if you:

  • Are fluent in at least one computer language and don't mind learning others.
  • Have already led other Software Engineers into a successful product or platform.
  • Have fluency in Portuguese and knowledge in English - we usually use English to write our code, documentation, tools, reference materials and eventually talk to partners and co-workers from other countries;

You'll stand out if you:

  • Have strong knowledge of computer theory, including optimization of algorithms and distributed systems.
  • Have already developed scalable client-server mobile applications.
  • Have already built winning Products or Platforms on successful companies.
  • Have some experience with AWS services;
  • Have some knowledge in Docker, modern CDs/CIs (Jenkins, Travis, Circle, Drone, ...);
  • Know how to test and tune scalability.
