Job description

Job Summary: 


As a Managed Services Engineer I at Loop1, your primary role will be to service, and support Loop1’s Managed Services Clients. 

 

In this role, you will provide remote support and proactive consultative services for the SolarWinds Product suite. Your responsibilities will include installation, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support. We provide comprehensive training, a competitive salary, and paid annual leave. Additional administrative duties may be assigned as needed. This role reports to the EMEA Head of Engineering. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Provide remote break-fix support to Loop1 SolarWinds Maintenance Clients.
  • Monitor, manage, and maintain SolarWinds Orion and associated products daily, both proactively (scheduled activities) and reactively (responding to support requests).
  • Contribute to a shared understanding of the client’s SolarWinds environment, including its current state and target state.
  • Regularly consult with clients to understand their business requirements and drive continuous improvement of their SolarWinds tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Level or equivalent education.
  • Ability to attain SolarWinds Certified Professional certification in Network Performance Monitor, Network Traffic Analyzer, Network Configuration Manager, and Server & Application Monitor.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in server and network administration for medium to large businesses.
  • Strong understanding of hosting enterprise applications on Windows Server OS.
  • Solid grasp of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of SNMP, SNMP Traps, and Syslog.
  • Reliable high-speed Internet connection.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resourceful team player with the ability to work effectively independently.
  • Adaptability to various competing demands and a commitment to providing excellent customer/client service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Cisco IOS; CCNA certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL administration and Transact-SQL queries is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server OS, including role management and troubleshooting; MCSA certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of complementary platforms such as ServiceNow, JIRA, Clarity, Jenkins, GitHub, and other DevOps tools is beneficial.
