Senior Full Stack Engineer GIS (remote)

Surplusmap is a VC-funded startup building the tools for the green transition. We're backed by Simula innovation - one of the top R&D companies in Norway, have gone through Google Sustainability incubator and have been invited to be part of European Space Agency Business Incubator (ESA-BIC).

We're on a mission to help companies in a green transition by making data-driven decisions on building new green industrial projects.

We're a fully remote team working across three countries for now. You'll be joining a senior team with scale-up experience and backgrounds in climate change & mapping science, Earth Observation Technologies, green finance, and tech expertise.

You will work on all aspects of the product, which includes:

• Our web app allows decision-makers to filter and score different sites, with all the hindrances associated with complex map visualizations.
• Our collaboration platform, where you’ll work with us on building commenting/review system.
• Prototyping machine learning algorithms that will take satellite imagery and extract relevant data on the grid and transport networks

As a part of the Surplusmap product team, here’s what you’ll do:

• Architect and develop highly scalable web applications.
• Work closely with our product people, designers, and engineers to design, build, and ship new features from scratch.
• Evaluate and improve the performance, durability, and security of applications in production.
• Take ownership of your tasks and see features through from start to finish.
• Help teammates improve when reviewing their work and appreciate feedback when they reciprocate.
• Work on projects in Agile fashion with 2-week sprints.

You should apply if:
