Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Azure DevOps Lead Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As an Azure DevOps Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Microsoft Azure DevOps. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate and streamline our software delivery processes, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

This role at Amber Labs is a permanent position, and all employees are required to meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and possess a current / active DV Clearance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong Leadership skill and deep experience with Azure DevOps, demonstrating proficiency in utilizing its features and functionalities.
  • Ability to create and modify CI-CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and automated software deployment processes.
  • Proficiency in creating automated code scanning using pipelines, ensuring code quality and security standards are met.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure technologies such as Cosmos DB, Blob Storages, Web Apps, and Azure Synapse.
  • Strong automation skills using ARM templates and Bicep, enabling streamlined infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Deep understanding of Azure computing, storage, logging and monitoring, auditing, and security services.
  • Experience with running deployments, updating Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), investigating errors, and collaborating with central support teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams for Azure DevOps-related tasks and best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in DevOps, Azure services, and related tools.


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field / equivalent.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications, such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect.
  • Strong Leadership, communication and stakeholder management experience
  • Experience in Agile project delivery, working within iterative and collaborative development environments.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps, including experience in building and maintaining Azure YAML pipelines and Bicep templates.
  • Familiarity with deploying Web Apps, Cosmos DB, Storage Accounts, Synapse, and other supporting infrastructure.
  • PowerShell experience would be an asset, facilitating automation and scripting tasks.
  • Azure Data Engineer experience, including building and maintaining Azure Synapse Pipelines and Data Flows
  • Demonstrated experience working in agile team environments, collaborating with cross-skilled individuals to achieve project goals
