Job description

This is a hybrid or remote job. Location: Budapest.

What will you do?

 

This role is aligned to the ‘System Architect’ role as described in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework). You will work with the software development teams on developing systems and subsystems, shaping them to ensure they align with business goals and delight the clients.

 

Working closely with Product Owners, Technical Leads and Subject Matter Experts to guide and document architectural decisions, conduct trade-off analysis on competing options, and identify and manage technical debt.

 

As a technical leader, you will be comfortable with coaching and mentoring where necessary to improve the maturity of the software engineering capability. You will need to be comfortable and confident engaging with C-Suite and be seen as an authority on technical issues.

 


Responsibilities


  • Ensuring the system under development is fit for its intended purpose
  • Set foundational principles for the Architectural team, including process, key artefacts and best practice
  • Engagement with key technology suppliers to ensure technical direction is aligned
  • Continuously validate the current system against core KPIs for cost, reliability, and performance and proactively manage those metrics
  • Validate technology assumptions and evaluate implementation alternatives
  • Coaching of existing team members to further develop their careers
  • Engaging proactively with business leaders to create clarity and consensus around technical direction
  • Partner with product, design, engineering, and project management to ensure common understanding and effective execution of technical and cultural change

 


Requirements


  • Experience in a technical leadership role
  • Demonstrable experience designing globally deployed, scalable solutions
  • Strong understanding of the full SDLC
  • Experience with CI/CD and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and persuasion skills
  • Experience of AWS architecture is beneficial
  • Test driven development (TDD/BDD) and best practices preferred
