Job description

This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:

Contract: INdependent Contractor
Schedule:20 hours per week; 4 hours a day - Monday to Friday  between 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM Central time

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant with a strong understanding of the full accounting cycle. While the primary responsibilities will focus on transaction management and bank reconciliations, it's essential that the candidate also has a solid grasp of accounting review processes and financial reporting concepts to ensure accuracy and consistency in their work.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and categorize financial transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO)

  • Carefully work through the bank feed and ensure accurate posting of transactions

  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly

  • Monitor and follow up on uncleared transactions

  • Use and apply classes in QBO appropriately

  • Communicate with clients to clarify transaction details or follow up on missing documentation/statements

  • Organize and manage submitted statements and records


Requirements


  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, especially in bank feed and reconciliation features

  • Knowledge of the full accounting cycle, particularly transaction processing and reconciliation

  • Familiarity with classes in QBO

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Basic client communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
