About The Role
The Procurement Specialist supports a significant pipeline of capital projects for a major Queensland-based utilities client. This newly created role is responsible for providing expert procurement advice and execution of procurement activities in a fast-paced environment :
Develop and implement procurement and subcontracting strategies for an extensive program of capital projects, working in collaboration with internal stakeholders to identify and plan for sourcing of long-lead time items, subcontract and services packages (e.g. electrical, civil, engineering consultancy), materials and consumables.
Assist/lead the preparation of tender documentation including collating technical documents.
Carry out sourcing, contracting, and vendor onboarding activity, and ensure the end-to-end process is completed in compliance with Downer and client procedures including any probity requirements.
Report on key metrics and KPIs to senior management, ensuring transparency in procurement activities .
Support client-facing activity including assisting bid and estimating teams in the development of procurement strategies and the preparation and review of RFQs documents
About You
Demonstrable 5+ experience in procurement, commercial and/or contract management in construction, utilities, oil and gas or similar industry
Procurement experience in large complex packages with sound understanding of the Australian construction market and its forms of contract
Good relationship management and influencing skills and experience working in a collaborative & relationship-based client environment
Attention to detail, diligent in ensuring tenders and contracts are clear, accurate, and comply with legal, financial, and technical requirements, including alignment with Head Contract requirements
