Job description

We’re Hireup, delivering support as it should be — for disability and aged care.

Our story. It started in 2015 with a family and their challenge to find disability support that worked for them. They needed more and knew that people with disability could have greater independence, choice, and control in their lives. As Hireup grew, it became clear that older Australians faced many of the same challenges in accessing the right support. Today, Hireup is proud to deliver personalised, high-quality support through home care for older Australians, enabling them to live with dignity, independence, and connection to their community.

Your life, supported. We’re Hireup, and we’ve supported thousands of clients and 10,000+ employed support workers across Australia. Since 2015, we’ve facilitated over 100,000 support connections, with 83% of clients reporting a positive impact on their lives. Now, we’re on a mission to ensure that older Australians and their families can access the right support to maintain their independence. We do this by combining innovative digital tools with the reliability of someone to help when it matters most.

The ask? Our mission sets a new standard for support, working in a world of transformation whilst delivering reliable services every day. Authenticity, curiosity and tenacity is a must. Resilience will be key. We will live the ‘power of yes’ and push for the best (we might not always get it right!) but we’ll work together to tackle opportunities, hold each other up and be there in the moments that matter to you and our community.

What you'll do - Senior iOS Engineer (9 months fixed term contract)

We're looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join Hireup's Mobile Apps team — a passionate, cross-functional team driving the future of our iOS and Android experiences for the community. As a Senior iOS Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping our iOS app, built on a modern Swift and SwiftUI codebase with clean, scalable architecture. You’ll dive into building sleek, user-facing features, fixing bugs, writing rock-solid tests, and helping evolve the app’s architecture.

  • Help develop our native and modern iOS app that uses Swift and SwiftUI.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure optimal user experiences in mobile context.
  • Maintain a focus on readable, maintainable, performant, and appropriately abstracted code.
  • Collaborate on shared concerns between other mobile platforms like Android.
  • Be a stakeholder in what it means to be a quality iOS app within the broader Apple ecosystem.
  • Grow our general development capabilities and help build a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

Your Background

  • Experience and knowledge of Swift, SwiftUI and Xcode.
  • Hands-on experience with Async await and MVVM architecture.
  • Knowledge and interest in the latest technologies affecting iOS development
  • An understanding of good development practices.
  • Understanding of manual and unit testing practices, and experience in implementing well-tested code.
  • A collaborative approach, with experience working in an Agile team environment
  • Great communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of responsibility and being involved and engaged in your work.
  • A connection to, or interest in building an understanding of the Australian disability sector and community
  • Approach work with high energy, drive and internal motivation
  • Exhibit adaptability, resilience, transparency, trustworthiness, passion and innate curiosity

Why should you join?

You’ll have the opportunity to join our story and develop the next chapter of your own. You’ll become a critical part of a purpose-driven team, delivering our mission for people with a disability. Wherever you fit best within our organisation, our mission will ignite you, and our authentic, united and diverse workplace will help you flourish.

You will get:

  • Opportunities to develop - we are always learning!
  • Generous leave options including 12 weeks paid parental leave and 7 additional days to help you pursue your ‘good life’ and learning goals
  • Allowances to support you in your work set up and professional development
  • Wellbeing programs, health and fitness discounts to help you stay happy and healthy at work
