We are looking to add an experienced Manual Quoter to our engineering team. The sheet metal cost estimator is responsible for client quoting, supplier sourcing, production planning, and supporting on-time order fulfillment. A successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. The position will require competencies that include CAD proficiency, knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication methods, experience communicating sheet metal design for manufacturability feedback, costing, and sound technical communication aptitude.
Analyze technical drawings and CAD models (in English)
Estimate production cost (materials + machine time + post-processing)
Provide recommendations on manufacturing process (if needed)
Prepare and deliver detailed calculation results to the Sales/Quoting team
Core performance indicator: speed and quality of quote processing — ideally within 1–2 working hours after request receipt
Structure and document personal workflow; contribute to automation improvements
Higher technical education — Mechanical Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer / Design Engineer or equivalent
8+ years of experience in metalworking or mechanical engineering
Expert knowledge of machining processes: turning, milling, CNC, EDM, and sheet metal operations (laser, waterjet, plasma cutting, welding)
Familiarity with metal post-processing: polishing, hardening, heat treatment, anodizing, sand/shot blasting, coatings, painting, etc.
Solid understanding of various structural materials and their machinability (metals, plastics, composites)
English proficiency: A2 or higher
Tech-savvy mindset and willingness to work with digital tools and software
Technical drawing interpretation (5/5)
Fixture/tooling design for machining and welding (3/5)
Hands-on involvement in production workflows (5/5)
Familiarity with key manufacturing methods: laser/waterjet cutting, turning, milling, grinding, EDM, sheet metal work (5/5)
Knowledge of coatings and thermal treatment (3/5)
Accurate estimation of manufacturing complexity and lead time (5/5)
Basic CAM programming (3/5)
Preferred software: SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CypCut (training available if needed)
Additional Skills:
Experience communicating with customers and independently managing outsourced parts production
Fully remote full-time position (home office)
Willingness to work partially in U.S. Eastern Time Zone — start no earlier than 10:00 a.m. Kyiv time (later preferred)
Comfortable home office setup required: fast internet, software for CAD/CAM file review, access to CRM, cloud platforms, Slack, video conferencing.
Company-provided PC and monitor and all necessary equipment.
