Job description

The Position

A well-known retail and apparel brand seeks an experienced, business-oriented Senior Commercial Contracts Attorney to provide overflow legal support during a critical period. This short-term engagement with potential to extend will relieve internal team bandwidth, enabling focus on strategic initiatives like tariff contingency planning.

The attorney will manage day-to-day commercial contract needs with minimal hand-holding, efficiently triaging matters that require escalation to the Assistant General Counsel. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, highly practical, and adept at operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including:
  • Supplier and vendor agreements
  • Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
  • Marketing, licensing, and services contracts
  • Triage incoming legal requests and determine which items require AGC review or approval
  • Collaborate with internal business clients, procurement, and operations teams
  • Work closely with the internal legal team to align on priorities, risk thresholds, and escalation paths
  • Apply sound judgment to balance legal risk and business objectives
  • Provide clear, practical legal advice aligned with in-house standards and the client's risk profile
  • Maintain accurate records and version control during review cycles

The ideal candidate will have strong in-house experience reviewing, negotiating, and triaging supplier, vendor, marketing, and licensing agreements , especially within retail, manufacturing, or consumer goods environments. A business-minded approach, strong triage instincts, and the ability to work with minimal oversight are key to success in this role.

This project starts after May 20, 2025, is fully remote, and requires 20 hours/week. The initial term is four weeks, with the possibility to extend.

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $100 and $120. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
