Job title: Mechanical Engineering (Summer Internship)

Position type: Internship

Job Description

Position Description:

This is a temporary position for 3 months as a summer internship.  The intern will perform the task of collecting data from various reports in ArcVera's archives related to site meteorological conditions, and corresponding design conditions of the wind turbines placed at those sites.  From these data, a database will be constructed that allows us to answer investor inquiries about how much it is "typical" for meteorological conditions to exceed a wind turbine's design specification.  The work product at the end of the internship will be a report describing work performed, a corresponding database that includes the relevant information, and a PowerPoint presentation describing the analysis and results.

The position is for 20 hours per week of work during the 3-month internship.  Work may be performed remotely with in-person or video conference check-ins at least once per week with a supervisor.

Qualifications:

This internship position requires the successful candidate to be at least two years into a Mechanical Engineering degree program at an accredited university in the United States.   Full time study at a community college prior to enrollment at a 4-year university count toward this requirement, as long as the coursework at the community college was relevant to a Mechanical Engineering degree.

US citizenship, or legal work status, are a requirement for this position.  This temporary internship position does not support a visa application process.  Candidates in the US on a student visa will not be considered.

Compensation:

The position pays $17/hour and is not eligible for bonus payments, or other benefits other than state-mandated sick leave based on the state in which the intern is located.

Location type: Remote

Remote work requirements: Remote employees must be based within the US

Time requirements: Schedule Part time

Hours: 29 hours per week

Employment duration: Temporary or seasonal

Estimated start date: 6/16/2025

Estimated end date: 9/16/2025

Compensation: 15–17 USD per hour
