Job description

About Presence

Presence is the leading provider of teletherapy solutions for children with diverse needs. Through our award-winning technology, Presence connects speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and mental health specialists to schools, districts, and organizations nationwide. Our growing network of 2,000+ clinicians has delivered over 7 million teletherapy sessions to K-12 students.

We are a remote-first, distributed workforce of 200+ corporate employees, headquartered in New York. We place a high value on “cameras on” engagement, schedule coordination and cross-functional communication to stay connected with each other when working in different places. Many roles require travel to create opportunities to engage in-person with our school partners, our clinicians, and each other.

About This Role

We’re looking for a Kanga Customer Research Intern to join our team for Summer 2025. Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Kanga, you’ll play a key role in supporting our mission to deliver teletherapy solutions for children with diverse needs. This internship is perfect for someone who is curious, creative, and a self-starter. You’ll get hands-on experience in gathering customer insights to strengthen product-market fit for our Saas Platform, Kanga – all while contributing to a mission driven organization that helps children with special needs.

What will you do during your internship at Presence?

This project focuses on understanding user perspectives on our Saas platform’s (Kanga) value and deficiencies. It involves designing data collection methods, conducting research, and analyzing the findings to identify what would improve the user experience.

Project Goals

  • Identify key user pain points and areas of dissatisfaction with the Kanga platform.
  • Determine what features and improvements would significantly enhance the user experience and increase user satisfaction.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with remote team members to ensure clear communication and alignment, contributing to a positive, inclusive team culture.
What we're looking for?
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate program (Preferred majors in Business Management or Math/Statistics-related programs) with an anticipated graduation date in 2026 or 2027.
  • Available to work up to 25 hours per week throughout the 8-week summer internship, running from June 16 to August 8.
    • The schedule for this internship is M-F for 5 hours/day.
  • Basic experience with research methodology.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Enthusiasm for remote work and “cameras on” collaboration.
What will help you succeed here?
  • Our team is committed to shared principles of inclusivity. We engage with all stakeholders in a spirit of listening, learning, and broadening our perspectives.
  • We commit to a growth mindset. We don’t use energy to explain why something can’t be done; we figure out how to make it happen.
  • We are mission-driven. Our work helps more children with special needs receive the necessary support. We believe our work is essential, meaningful, and urgent.
  • We believe in data-driven decision-making, measuring outcomes, and iterative improvements.
Where is this position located?
  • Presence is headquartered in New York, with our clients located throughout the U.S.
  • This is a remote position based in the US.
  • This position will report directly to the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Kanga.
  • All employees commit to being available on-camera for our Core Working Hours, noon to 5 pm EST M-F.
How to Apply:

Submit your resume and a brief cover letter (max 300 words) explaining why you’re excited to join Presence and how your skills align with this role.

Join us for a summer of impact, innovation, and collaboration!
